What Solstice is
Solstice tells you which European vehicle access restrictions a route crosses, what each one requires, and where the rule comes from. It is an information service. It is free to use, and it needs no account.
What it is not
It is not legal advice, and it is not a permit. Nothing here authorises you to enter a zone. Buying a sticker, obtaining a permit or registering a vehicle is always done with the issuing authority, never with us.
Access rules change, sometimes at short notice and sometimes without the authority publishing machine-readable data. We record when each source was last read and show that date beside the answer. Where a source is silent or ambiguous we say so rather than guess. You remain responsible for the vehicle you drive and the road you drive it on — if an answer here matters to you, confirm it with the authority we name.
Accuracy, and what to do when we are wrong
The site is provided as-is, without warranty. We do not accept liability for fines, penalties or losses arising from reliance on it, to the extent the law permits. That is the ordinary disclaimer, and it is worth being plain about what sits behind it: we publish every source and licence so you can check our working. If you find an error, write to hello@bysolstice.com and we will correct it.
Your use of the site
You may use Solstice for your own journeys and for your business’s journeys. Please do not scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, or present its answers as your own product without attribution — the underlying data carries licence conditions that travel with it, set out on the sources page.
Changes
These terms may change as the service does. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
