Who is responsible for your data

Solstice is operated by Galin Mariev Kovachev, a sole trader trading as Solstice. There is no registered company. That is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR, and the place to write about anything on this page is hello@bysolstice.com — the same address published in the site footer.

Getting an answer tells us nothing about you

There is no account and no sign-up. You do not tell us your name, your email or your vehicle registration to get an answer. The route you check is resolved in your browser and is not sent to us or stored by us.

The one exception is if you write to us, which is your choice and is set out below.

There is no analytics on this site: no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no heatmap, no third-party embed. Nothing on the page reports back what you looked at.

What is kept in your browser

Two values are saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers your last answer between visits. They stay on your device, are never transmitted to us, and clearing your browser data removes them:

• the vehicle you last chose, so you need not pick it again;
• the trip you last built, so a half-finished plan survives a reload.

If you email us

We publish hello@bysolstice.com in the footer, so inbound mail is personal data we process even though nothing on the site asks for it. What we hold is what you chose to send: your address, and whatever is in your message.

We use it to answer you and, where you have reported an error in the data, to keep a record of the correction and what prompted it — the audit trail is the point of the product. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence and in keeping our sources accountable. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not profile you, and we do not pass your address to anyone.

We keep correspondence for twelve months from your last message, and delete it then. The exception is mail that evidences a correction to the data: we keep that for as long as the correction stands, because the audit trail is what makes the correction checkable. You can ask us to delete anything sooner.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes the technical information any web request involves — your IP address and browser user-agent — to deliver the page and protect the service from abuse. That is a processor relationship and it is the only third party in the path.

Cloudflare is a US company operating a global network, so handling a request may involve a transfer outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, which form part of Cloudflare’s data processing addendum. We hold no personal data of yours outside your own mail to us, and that mail is not passed to Cloudflare.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict how we process it, to object to that processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Because we hold nothing unless you have emailed us, in most cases there is nothing to access or erase. If you have written to us and want that correspondence deleted, ask at the address above and we will do it. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

If this ever stops being true — if an account, a newsletter or any measurement is added — this page changes first, and the date at the top with it. See also our cookie statement.
